Mild and breezy. As creek continues to be a problem for smooth flow of cattle, I divert from NBW10 to NBW14 (county road paddock). 2’s and 3’s remain in NBW3 on old CRP ground fed full straw and hay. 14 bulls continue in NNG1 on grass and biuret supplement. Calves (440) finish the annual grazing period WG3 on full feed hay and straw.

Warmer again. Feed cows near water tank for their 3 day feed. More flocks of horned larks being seen to and from feeding. I attended ACES and committee meeting all afternoon.
Warmer with nighttime frost. No moves. Geese are congregating around reservoir that plan to stay and nest. # 60 bred heifer slinks fetus. 29 late term cows rejoin main herd-now 399.
Cloudy, breezy, and cool-spring-like. I moved cows to next split in NBW10. Cows crossing North Willow Creek has become a bit of a headache. Not used to having a steady stream of water flowing in the creek-nor are the cows. I moved cows into last split in the CRP field in NBW3.
Uneven wintry mix with little moisture accumulation. I returned home to feed cows in time to facilitate a conference call on the ACES 54 Project.
Fresh snow (1”) this morning, with winds returning from the west. No moves today, as I head to Bozeman for a sangha talk and an RMG meeting.
Calm all day with no winds. Remarkable. I moved cows in the afternoon to 2nd split in NBW10. Calves move into WG4 as we prepare for a second Corrid treatment. Flocks of geese were heading north all day. And I am finally starting to see some horned larks moving around. Our resident sharp-tail flock is up to about 20.
Warming continues with freezing overnight. Feed day for cows, as I feed into 1st split in NBW10.
Windy and warmer. I move young cows to next split in NBW3. Regular feeding continues.
Strong SW biting winds yet slight warming over the day. Cows move to next and last split for NBW12-11.
