Storm breaking up with some light showers and cool temperatures. Cows and bulls stay put. 2’s move to last split in NNG1a. We plan to trail 2’s into main mob in the next week. Ranch Camp just gets better.

More rain all day-so nice and wet with almost 3” over last 3 days. Just moved the bulls, everyone else stayed put. First day of Ranch Camp went great.
More rain sets it for whole day. The big mob moved back across creek into next split in NG6. Also moved the 2’s to next split in NNG1a. California families show up for ranch camp at end of day.
Very warm-like 90’s again, yet evening brings more thunder-storms and gushing rains-over 1” new moisture. I moved cows to last split (6) in SBW3&8. Roland’s first day of monitoring with Natalie’s help. We loaded out 12 cull cows for the Mannix grass-fed program, which we are hoping might become an annual market.
Much warmer and humid. We moved cows to next split in SBW3&8. Ambrosia almost uniformly scattered throughout paddock. We moved 2’s to next split in NNG1a.
Cool and cloudy following last night’s rain. We hosted the Leopold Tour (30 folks). Good time had by all, with the day beginning with a well-planned mob move for the tour goers to observe.
Pretty warm day followed with a short turbulent evening thunder-shower offering lightning and 1/3’ of rain. Natalie and I set up the temporary fence in the main-mob to allow for an easily observable move for the Leopold tour tomorrow, which also included moving cows to a new split for the day. We also moved 2’s to next split.
Warming. We moved the pairs (big mob) into 3rd split in SBW3&8, as we move back into our planned rotation prior to branding. In SBW, 1 and 1a need to become 1; 2 and 2a need to become 2; and 3 and 8 need to become 3-less permanent and more temporary. Bulls moved into 4th split in WL1. Yuccas are moving to full bloom.  Follow the leader. Clear and warming. Cows are trailed out of County Rd paddock into SBW (3-8)-nice and steady trailing line of pairs. 2’s moved to next split in NNG1a (east). White-throated swifts observed slicing the sky over sandstone rims.  |
