Weather: Cooler
WG (11): 18 bulls
L (3): Pairs (340)
Entry: Finally got cows out of LS (16) and into L (3). Too long like 23 Ads too long. Yikes. Cows seemed content yet trailing back over grass they already grazed was the problem. Thinking hard about how we graze in July-critical month for getting cows in an upward trend for breeding. May go to 50 acres per day. Toads filling the house pond.

Weather: Almost hot.
WG (11): 18 bulls
LS (16): Pairs (340)
Entry: Pairs not moving out of LS (16) back into Lackey on their own. We will need to push them out tomorrow. Dana attends Leopold event, while I attend the Tour at the King Ranch. Small fire in Adolph hay field caused by sparks from hay equipment. Fortunately, quickly put out with help from Ryan. I guess it is now fire season.

Weather: Not too hot, not too cold, and not too dusty.
WG (11): 18 bulls
LS (12) and Corrals: Cows (340)
Entry: BRANDING DAY. Very smooth, almost effortless, and yet disruptive. 330 Calves. Due to no 2’s and 35 calves lost we are 125 calves short from last year. Dana lays out a great feed.

NS: 18 bulls
LS (12): Cows (348)
Entry: Pairs spend the day in LS 12 along county road and watering in corrals. Evening capture in holding lot is the smoothest yet thanks to grass lot on west side of corrals.

Weather: Warmer and dry.
NS: 18 bulls
LS (16): Cows (348)
Entry: Another bird survey near lake Mason with Corinne at NRCS. Lake very low yet great shorebirds. Rock C. shows up for fecal collection, range assessment, and conditioning scoring of cows, Seems impressed with both the grass and cows. Carlyle and I tuned up county road paddock and let cows into paddock late in the afternoon. Ryan and Jason making great improvements on the corrals.

Weather: Warmer and windy. Then a short and heavy rain at evening. About 5” to date for year.
NS: 18 bulls
LS (16): Cows (348)
Entry: Cows move into Little Switzerland Unit and heading closer to corrals late in the day. I helped with Bird Survey on Sig Pugruds south of Winnett. Carlyle has a breakout to the east into the trees-does a good job getting the situation corrected on his own.

Weather: Early morning rain and then partly cloudy and breezy. So much mud!
NS: 18 bulls
L (3): Cows (348)
Entry: We move bulls into WG () away from the corral area so cows have room to trail through without fear of a mix up.
