Almost hard frost, Turning clear and warmer in the afternoon. Cows move to 3rd split.

Sharply cooler, yet not very cold. Afternoon sun and calm air emanate pleasant. Cows move into 2nd split in new paddock.
A light shower on leaves and grass smell sweet. Cows make 1st move in new paddock just north of house-Mostly 20 to 30 acre splits. Marni Thompson from NRCS helps and learns what and how we move cows.
Moderate conditions continue throughout. These six days are spent re-grazing paddocks recently grazed in NNG to get a good clip on everything, as this unit has never been grazed thoroughly.
Reverse trail back NNG thru WL5 and SNG6. I am off to Polson to hang with Max for 4 days.
Mild and calm conditions return. Very lovely, yet the lack of moisture puts a persistent worrisome edge on it all. Weaning continues mostly smoothly. Corrid treatment begins. I calf injured due to some mini stampede not seen near corrals. Cows in the afternoon start moving back into WG5 away from calves.
Warm comes with the wind. Dust soon returns. Cows and calves are fence-lined weaned today, Cows are in SG1. Calves are in WG1. Very clean and calm operation. Tomorrow will tell us how well we prepared to avoid any mixing.
Chilly start to the day, yet the day warms later. Cows move into WG5 in preparation for weaning.
Cloudy and cool. We push cows out of NNG into SNG6 (BLM). First move we have been on BLM ground since late spring. Doctored one more calf.
Close to .25 moisture. Good settling of dust as we get closer to weaning. First day cows watered on both the tank they left in the timber, and the corral tank. Most moved over the hill by the second day. Long period of graze due to Natalie and I attending a Grazers’ Gathering in Malta, and the cows entering the new paddock from the back end.
